Pulse Trade Fair

Just back from a great few days in London, exhibiting my cards, prints and new gift wrap at the Pulse show at Earl's Court.  It was lovely to meet lots of new stockists and interested people, and to show off my new designs!

All of the new prints and cards will be available to buy at my online shop next week.

Mel's wedding invitations

Today I got to spend the morning with Mel, coming up with ideas for her wedding invitations. I am working on a collection of wedding stationery that will be available in my etsy shop - coming soon! And I couldn't help daydreaming about when me and Darren will turn this long engagement into a big wedding party...

Here they are more finished...

Cards update

Here they are on the shelves of the lovely Oklahoma gift shop in Manchester. Rosa loves it in there, all the colours, running round and pointing things out to friends!

Stolen minutes for drawing

Snowy view from Ikea car park (grabbing the chance to get out my sketchbook while Rosa sleeps) getting better at drawing Grandad's for the book I'm working on, and a portrait of me and Rosa. She has grown so much since I stopped drawing her in my picture diaries last February.

Sketchbooking

Every night when Rosa goes to bed I begin to scribble or paint in my sketch books. It often seems like little drawings that will go nowhere. And then the nights pass, and little scribbles start to turn into drawings and paintings that I love.

rosa and david shrigley

Today Rosa learned to play the guitar (well, hold a ukelele for just enough seconds to take a photo)...

...We went to visit David Shrigley's exhibition at the Cornerhouse in Manchester....

... where there was a very appropriate drawing for Rosa (she keeps getting over affectionate and biting me!)

Top Drawer

I'm just coming round from the whirlwind that was Top Drawer Trade Fair.  It was my first trade show and was such a brilliant experience.  I met lots of lovely new suppliers, mainly in the South of England and was completely overwhelmed and inspired by all the brilliant help and advice given to me by the other stall holders.  Preparing for the show was  hard work but with my attention to detail I was able to get the stand looking exactly how I wanted it.  I had lots of great comments on my sign (that I cut by hand in my Dad's garage!) and the individual shelves that my cards were displayed on (also cut and painted by hand!) as well as the wonderful response by buyers to my card designs.
Thank you so much to everyone who helped me to prepare, to Lowri and Amy who helped to run the stall, and to everyone we met who made it such a fantastic experience.

Here are two pictures of Rosa manning the stall - very good for business!
